My Blessing from above…
July 23, 2011 Our Wedding Anniversary
God Hears Our Prayers - My mother, Bro. Barton, and myself prayed in agreement for God to bring The Right Woman In My Life, the one God would have for me and answered prayer took place. Carrie and I met for the first time in July 2007 after Church on a warm Sunday night. The place Star Bucks in Terrell. (As they closed down we were still in the parking lot taking.) We learned the most important thing in each of our life, was God First. By the way, that’s got us through all of things we would face together.
1 Corinthians 3:11 For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
I ask her what are you doing tomorrow? Well, God was smiling on me, the most beautiful woman in the world inside and out, ask me to come for dinner. God brought us together, I’m a little country and she is a little rock and roll. As time moved on in our relationship and the stop signs, red lights, the run sign that popped up, well we put God First and ran to Him together. Wow, Jesus is our Healer. A personal relationship with Jesus Christ gets us through all things. We can have peace even in the storm.
Matthew 7:24 "Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.
We met in July and I ask her to marry me at Christmas. SHE SAID YES!
Ephesians 2:20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone
Our wedding would be sometime in Oct. of the following year. Well how many know in relationships there are sometime baggage? Our Church was falling down no way would work for our wedding. So we went to Kaufman to check out another church for the wedding, but God told us in our spirit we should be married in our own church. Once again we joined hands and prayed together. Carrie & I postponed our wedding 3 years to rebuild our church, because God was 1st in our lives. Wow, so many things God taught us, so many soul scars healed up, and our love for each became stronger than ever. This was God’s way to prepare us for our ministry as pastors of our church. Three years passed and we were married in our own church. We filled it up with family, friends and now our extended church family. When I think of the miracles that God preformed in our lives and our church it makes me cry. God is so good and He loves us so much.
1 Timothy 6:19 storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is life indeed. 2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness." 1 Peter 2:6 For this is contained in Scripture: "BEHOLD, I LAY IN ZION A CHOICE STONE, A PRECIOUS CORNER stone, AND HE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED." Deuteronomy 32:4 "The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He.
The 23rd of this month would be our 6th wedding anniversary with total of almost ten wonder years together. I cherish even second we had together. She had so many talents with the spirit of excellence in everything she did. She would light any room, her smile, her laugh, her compassion and her love for others. God’s love truly flowed through her in all of her way. All the kids she taught Art felt her love and passion. Her Faith so great because of her personal relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
I could talk for hours about my Carrie and if you know me, you know I can talk for hours, but I would like to add that I’m so Blessed to be a part this beautiful family. My heart is heavy for our loss, but God is first in our lives and this is a time we run to God who is our strength. Carrie’s close dear friend Paullett at the hospital closed her eyes and saw Carrie dancing with Jesus. I know Carrie is with Jesus and we will see her again. Happy Wedding Anniversary To My Precious Carrie, I know you closed your beautiful blue eyes in our Pulpit and opened them up to Jesus in heaven.
